Spokesman: Turkish army continues cross-border operations in Syria, Iraq VIDEO
The Turkish military is continuing its efforts to ensure peace, security and stability both within its borders and beyond, the Defence Ministry said on September 11.
According to Caliber.Az, Zeki Aktürk, head of the ministry’s press office, said on X that during operations carried out last week in northern Iraq, a significant cache of weapons, ammunition and other materials had been destroyed.

These items had been discovered in caves, shelters and hideouts used by militants.
According to Aktürk, 303 people were detained over the past week while attempting to cross into Türkiye illegally. Among them were two members of terrorist organisations. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 6,137 people have been detained during illegal border crossing attempts.
Turkish forces also seized 30 kilograms of narcotics during search operations along the border in Van and Hakkari provinces, he said.
Aktürk added that under the ongoing campaign to eliminate tunnels in Syria, the total length of tunnels destroyed has reached 593 kilometres — including 236 kilometres in the Tel Rifaat area and 357 kilometres around Manbij.
