Spokesperson: Russia calls to consolidate Alaska summit progress
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has called on all sides to consolidate the progress achieved at the recent Russia–United States summit in Alaska.
Speaking to reporters on August 25, Zakharova stressed that Moscow is committed to advancing the agreements reached during the high-level talks, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
“I believe everyone should now focus on developing the successes and achievements that were demonstrated in Alaska. That is where attention must be concentrated — and this is precisely what Russia is doing, as you can see,” she said.
The Russia–US Summit in Alaska on August 15, 2025, brought U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin face-to-face at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage.
It was Putin’s first visit to U.S. military soil since the Ukraine war began, carrying strong symbolic weight.
The summit featured full military honours and tightly choreographed optics, but yielded no concrete agreements.
Trump called the talks “productive” yet admitted major gaps remained, stressing Ukraine must be part of future negotiations. Putin signalled a desire to “turn the page,” though without offering concessions.
Analysts described the meeting as a diplomatic win for Moscow, allowing Russia to break isolation and test Western unity.
