Strengthening Russia-Azerbaijan ties to take center stage at 16th KazanForum

A key topic of the 16th edition of the International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" to be held in Russia’s Kazan city will be the strengthening of the Russia-Azerbaijan relations.

The forum will be held from May 13 to 18, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

This prestigious event aims to enhance trade, economic, scientific, technological, educational, social, and cultural ties between Russia and the countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). A key topic for the forum will be the strengthening of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, two countries with a deepening partnership and many shared points of collaboration.

Russia currently ranks third among Azerbaijan's foreign trade partners, following Italy and Türkiye, and is the largest importer of Azerbaijan's non-oil products. The development of the International North-South Transport Corridor, particularly the western branch passing through Azerbaijan, will also be a focal point at the forum. This corridor promises to open new opportunities for regional and global connectivity. 

The KazanForum 2025 programme will feature a range of significant events, including meetings of transport ministers from the participating countries, the Conference on the Development of Transport and Logistics Potential, the Second International Exhibition "International Real Estate Market – 2025", the International Fashion Industry Forum, and discussions on the International North-South Transport Corridor Agreement.
