Tokayev dismisses Kazakh ambassador to Russia from post
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has dismissed Yermek Kosherbayev from the post of the republic’s ambassador to Russia.
Now Mr Kosherbayev will hold the post of head of the administration of the East Kazakhstan region, the president’s press service reported.
"To appoint Kosherbayev as the akim [head of administration] of East Kazakhstan Oblast, releasing him from the post of Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation," the presidential decree reads.
Ermek Kosherbaev was born in 1965. Graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since January 2020, he has served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Russia. Who will replace Mr Kosherbaev in this post is not specified.
