Top Azerbaijani cleric: Armenian revanchists abuse World Council of Churches
Armenian revanchists conduct slanderous campaigns against Azerbaijan using tribunes of various international organisations and abuse the religious platform - the World Council of Churches - for their insidious political purposes.
Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade made the remark at a meeting with the Holy See's Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin on July 10, according to Report.
At the meeting, Pashazade noted that ethnic and religious diversity is a national treasure of multicultural Azerbaijan: "Our state restores without any discrimination the vandalised religious and spiritual heritage in the territories liberated from occupation. But, unfortunately, unfounded, unfair, and biased accusations made by Armenians against Azerbaijan, where for centuries all religious communities have lived in peace and tranquillity, do not subside".
