Top Bosnia and Herzegovina official stresses importance of global dialogue at Baku forum

The XII Global Baku Forum provides an exceptional platform to discuss pressing global issues and turn challenges into opportunities, according to Željka Cvijanović, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In an interview with journalists on the sidelines of the forum, Cvijanović emphasized the significance of such gatherings, particularly in a world marked by instability and negative developments, Caliber.Az reports.

“It is especially important that, given the instability in the world and many negative developments, we can talk about real ways to turn these challenges into opportunities. It is also a good opportunity for every country representative present here to talk about the challenges their states face,” she explained.

Cvijanović also highlighted the dramatic events currently unfolding in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She expressed her desire to share her concerns with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the other forum participants.

“And in fact, I wanted first of all to share this with President Ilham Aliyev, as well as with all participants of the forum, because this event always provides a great opportunity not only to share my experience but also to express my concerns. Today I shared my concerns about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Cvijanović added.

The ongoing XII Global Baku Forum, themed "Rethinking World Order: Turning Challenges into Opportunities," is taking place at the Gulustan Palace in Baku, Azerbaijan, and will continue until March 15. Under the patronage of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the event is gathering over 400 distinguished participants, including current and former heads of state, Nobel Peace Prize laureates, and leading figures from international organizations and civil society.

President Aliyev delivered the opening speech at the forum, which aims to provide a platform for global dialogue, reflection, and collaboration. The primary objective of the forum is to encourage participants to share their experiences, address pressing global challenges, and explore potential solutions for the future.

Since its inception, the Global Baku Forum has become a major international event, hosting more than 100 heads of state and government and 4,000 prominent leaders. Through its discussions and interactions, the forum has made a significant impact in addressing some of the world's most urgent issues.
