Top military brass oversees tactical & special drills with Azerbaijani army's engineering units

On June 14, First Deputy Defence Minister - Chief of General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army Col-Gen Karim Valiyev observed tactical and special exercises conducted with engineering units.

After inspection of modern weapons and equipment at the disposal of units and subdivisions of the Engineering Troops, reports of the command staff were heard. The Chief of General Staff was informed that the units raised on alert were brought to the state of combat readiness and withdrawn to the areas of concentration.

The main focus of the exercise was on the fulfillment of various engineering support tasks, taking into account the experience of the Patriotic War and subsequent operations, as well as armed conflicts in various parts of the world.

Having positively assessed the course of the tactical and special exercises, the Chief of the General Staff gave instructions to further improve the quality of such exercises and to conduct them under the conditions of real combat.
