Training aircraft makes emergency landing in Russia due to engine failure
A training aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in a field in the Buguruslan district of Russia’s Orenburg region following an engine failure, local officials confirmed on July 31.
The incident involved a Diamond DA-40 aircraft, which was conducting a training flight with a pilot instructor and a cadet on board. No injuries were reported, Caliber.Az reports via TASS.
“They experienced engine failure and made an emergency landing off the runway. There were no casualties. They didn't make it to the runway and landed in a field. As far as I know, the landing gear was damaged,” said Andrey Ivanov, deputy head of the Buguruslan district administration for operational issues, construction, housing and utilities, transport and communications, in a comment to TASS.
The Aviaincident Telegram channel had earlier reported the aircraft’s engine failure during the flight. Emergency services responded to the scene, and the details of the incident are under further investigation.
