Trans-Caspian International Transport Route launches container service from China to Europe
A ceremonial send-off took place in the Chinese city of Xi'an for a container train traveling along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) from China to Europe.
The train, consisting of 55 forty-foot containers, departed from the "Xi'an International Port" and is heading to Budapest, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The representatives of the railways companies of Kazakhstan, China, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, along with officials from the party committee and government of Shaanxi province and the city of Xi'an attended the event. The train is expected to cover approximately 7,000 kilometres to Baku within 8-11 days, with an estimated total journey time to Budapest of around 25 days.
This reduction in delivery period and enhanced service quality has been made possible through effective collaboration among the railway and port administrations of the countries involved in the TITR. The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, connects China with European countries via Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye.
