Some 104 years ago, Turkish soldiers, who gained great victories on all fronts of Anatolia, under the leadership of Nuru Pasha, helped their Azerbaijani brothers. A great victory was gained on the Caucasus front in 1918, resulting in the liberation of Baku.
Newly independent Azerbaijan had insufficient means to secure its territorial integrity. Amidst challenging political twists and turns, Ottoman Türkiye sent troops to Azerbaijan under the command of Nuru Pasha to ensure the territorial integrity of fraternal Azerbaijan. Despite the protests of the European countries against the arrival of Turkish troops in Azerbaijan, Ottoman Türkiye honourably performed its historical duty in August-September 1918.
