Turkish FM hails Doha's Gaza ceasefire efforts as extremely valuable
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that he highly values Qatar’s willingness to continue its mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza despite the risks to Doha itself.
“We consider Qatar’s mediation efforts on the Gaza ceasefire extremely valuable. We have supported them from the very beginning and will continue to do so. These are very important and meaningful initiatives,” he said in an interview with Qatari broadcasters Al Jazeera and Qatar TV.
“Our Egyptian brothers and sisters also play a significant role here. Qatar continues these efforts, taking on any risk. I appreciate that after the recent incident [Israel’s strike on Hamas representatives in Doha], Qatar did not act emotionally but made it clear that it is ready to continue its mediation. This is truly admirable,” Fidan noted.
