Turkish media: Azerbaijan expects Russia to take responsibility for AZAL tragedy VIDEO
Turkish TV channel Haber Global in its recent report highlights that Azerbaijan has expressed its rightful expectation that Russia will not only offer an official apology but also ensure that those responsible for the tragic crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane are held accountable.
The crash, which occurred on December 25, claimed the lives of 38 people and has since sparked widespread calls for justice.
"Azerbaijan has clearly stated that those responsible for the crash must face punishment. However, despite these demands, Russia has not yet made any concrete steps towards addressing the incident. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has indicated that no assessments or actions will be taken until the official investigation is completed," the reports says, per Caliber.Az.
The AZAL flight, an Embraer aircraft en route from Baku to Grozny, tragically crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau, leaving a devastating toll on the passengers and crew. On board were 62 people, including 37 citizens from Azerbaijan, 16 from Russia, 6 from Kazakhstan, 3 from Kyrgyzstan, and 5 crew members. While 29 passengers survived, the loss of 38 lives has left Azerbaijan in mourning and has fueled demands for justice.
The Azerbaijani government remains firm in its expectation that Russia will take immediate and decisive action in holding accountable those responsible for the deaths of so many innocent people. The lack of response from Moscow has only intensified calls for justice, with the Azerbaijani side rightfully demanding answers and accountability from the Russian authorities.
