“The unmanned underwater vehicle, dubbed AUV65, is 6.5 metres long and weighs 600 kg. The AUV65 can operate at a depth of 75 metres, can reach speeds of 6 knots and has a cruising range of 93 km,” the report said.
Other companies working on unmanned underwater vehicles in Türkiye are Sonitus, STM and ROKETSAN. After the current research, in which small and medium-sized submarines make up the bulk, it can be concluded that larger projects will emerge once sufficient know-how on issues such as design and control is obtained.
