The power unit was supplied from South Korea for the company, but ALTAY serial production could not start due to the German embargo on engines. The development and testing of a domestic power unit is also underway, and ALTAY is expected to move into mass production after the completion of tests in the Turkish Armed Forces.
BMC continues to develop three more different types of armoured vehicles based on the ALTAY tank chassis. It is expected that a mine clearance vehicle, a recovery vehicle and an engineering vehicle will be added to the Turkish Armed Forces in the short term.
In addition, as part of the ALTAY serial production project, the ALTAY tank with an unmanned turret will be developed. The ALTAY prototype with an unmanned turret is expected to be available in the near future.
