Türkiye’s First Lady Emine Erdogan has expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva for warm hospitality.
"The COP29 summit brings hope for building a shared future in the fight against climate change. We were pleased to witness the efforts of the youth and the visionary leadership of Azerbaijan in this process. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to President Aliyev and his esteemed wife Mehriban Aliyeva for warm hospitality," Caliber.Az reports, citing the first lady’s message on X.
COP29 is considered one of the largest and most prestigious climate conferences in the world. This year’s event in Baku, which will run until November 22, is being held in Azerbaijan for the first time. The country has signed a Host Country Agreement and other key documents with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Secretariat, cementing its role as a leader in climate change discussions.
