Turkmen leader praises steady growth of relations with Azerbaijan
Chairman of Turkmenistan’s People's Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held talks in Ashgabat with Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister, Mikayil Jabbarov, focusing on the further development of bilateral relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Jabbarov, who is visiting the Turkmen capital, conveyed the greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Berdimuhamedov, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Turkmenistan State News Agency (TDH).
The Turkmen leader, in turn, sent his best wishes to the Azerbaijani president and underscored the growing strength of bilateral relations, noting that cooperation between the two countries continues to advance on the foundations of mutual trust and respect.
The sides stressed the importance Turkmenistan places on further expanding its friendly, brotherly, and good-neighbourly ties with Azerbaijan. They also highlighted the significance of the recent state visit to Baku by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Berdimuhamedov also reiterated his appreciation to Azerbaijan for presenting Turkmenistan with the Dostlug oil tanker during the visit.
