TURKPA backs Azerbaijan’s decision to end cooperation with European Parliament
The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) has supported the decision of the Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament) to end cooperation with the European Parliament, Ramil Hasan, the organisation’s Secretary-General, has said in a statement.
The document made it clear that the decision was a response to a biased and unfounded stance by the European Parliament toward Azerbaijan, which it said had persisted for a prolonged period, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
“Over the past six years, the European Parliament has demonstrated a hostile approach toward Azerbaijan and adopted more than 10 politically motivated documents, including the latest resolution of April 30, 2026,” it read.
TURKPA stressed that parliamentary assemblies should serve as platforms for constructive dialogue and good-faith cooperation, including with parliaments of countries outside the respective institutional frameworks.
