Ukraine denies Armenian disinformation about provoking war with Azerbaijan

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) has refuted information circulating in Armenian media that Ukraine is allegedly attempting to provoke an armed conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The disinformation claims that a new Azerbaijan-Armenia war would force Russia to open a "second front," thus diverting its forces and benefiting Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Directorate's report.

The Ukrainian GUR emphasizes that the basis for spreading this disinformation is a fake intelligence report, which contained gross errors. Specifically, the report mentions SDR instead of the correct ЄДРПОУ, and it includes the name "Їван," which has no equivalent in the Ukrainian language, instead of the correct "Іван." Moreover, this document does not meet the official formatting requirements for Ukrainian government documents.

However, as noted by the GUR, this information is only part of a fabricated campaign aimed at discrediting Ukraine on the international stage. In particular, a fake report was found, allegedly addressed to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Gavryliuk, containing numerous errors, including incorrect spelling and false references to official documents.

"This report does not meet Ukrainian government standards, further confirming its falsity," the statement reads.
