Ukraine receives $1.6 billion in financial aid from EU

23 October 2023 14:54

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said that Ukraine received the ninth tranche of macro-financial assistance worth 1.5 billion euros ($1.6 billion) from the EU.

The total EU budget support amounts to 15 billion euros ($15.8 billion) in 2023, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Shmyhal’s statement.

The prime minister said that this is one of the most important factors that help Ukraine to be economically strong and sustainable.

“Currently, together with the European Commission, we are working on a new long-term Ukraine Facility programme worth 50 billion euros ($52 billion). We expect to receive 18 billion euros ($19 billion) of that amount next year,” he added.
