UN, European embassies extend Independence Day congratulations to Azerbaijan

The United Nations mission in Azerbaijan and several European embassies have extended congratulations to the country on the occasion of May 28 – Independence Day, highlighting diplomatic goodwill and support for Azerbaijan.

The UN mission in Azerbaijan posted a brief message of congratulations on social media, stating: “On the occasion of 28 May – Independence Day – we congratulate the people of Azerbaijan!," Caliber.Az reports.

The Slovak Embassy in Baku also marked the occasion, wishing the country peace, prosperity, and continued success.

“On the occasion of 28 May, the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Baku extends its sincere wishes for peace, prosperity and continued success to the people of Azerbaijan,” Slovakia’s Embassy in Azerbaijan said on X.

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan similarly conveyed its greetings: “Happy Independence Day, Azerbaijan! On the occasion of 28 May – Independence Day, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan extends its sincere congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan,” the message reads.

The Belgian Embassy emphasised Azerbaijan’s national identity and commitment to sovereignty.

“The Embassy of Belgium warmly congratulates Azerbaijan on its Independence Day. On this day, we celebrate the Azerbaijani people’s unwavering commitment to preserving their hard-earned independence and their unique national culture and traditions. We wish the people of Azerbaijan peace, prosperity, and continuing success. Happy Independence Day!” the message reads.

Lithuania also joined in marking the day, expressing optimism for future cooperation.

“Lithuania warmly congratulates Azerbaijan and its people on Independence Day. Happy Independence Day!” the embassy said.
