UN to host briefing on VI World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue at Azerbaijan's initiative
At the initiative of Azerbaijan, the United Nations (UN) will hold a joint briefing on the "VI World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue".
A delegation headed by Farid Jafarov, head of the working group of the organising committee of the VI World Forum of Intercultural Dialogue, will take part in the joint briefing to be held on 12 April at the UN headquarters in New York, Report informs.
The World Forum of Intercultural Dialogue is an initiative launched by Azerbaijan and supported by the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC), UNESCO, the Council of Europe, the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe and ISESCO. The event is part of the "Baku Process" initiated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in 2008.
Baku will host the VI World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue on the theme "Dialogue for Peace and Global Security: Cooperation and Interconnection" from 1 to 3 May. The event will be organised by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) together with the UN Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC), UNESCO and UNWTO.
