Union of Turkic states poised to emerge as global economic hub TRNC Parliament Speaker says
The upcoming visit of the parliamentary delegation from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to Baku in early June is anticipated to bolster relations with Azerbaijan and further strengthen ties between the two nations, according to Zorlu Tore, the Speaker of the TRNC Parliament.
In an interview with Azertag, Tore expressed hope that other Turkic countries would follow Azerbaijan's lead in establishing inter-parliamentary connections with the TRNC. He commended the efforts of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in fostering relations within the Turkic world, emphasizing the readiness of the TRNC to collaborate with Azerbaijan for the betterment of the Turkic community.
"I believe that opportunities of Turkic states, their economic power should be used first of all for the benefit of Turkic states themselves. I am sure that the union of Turkic states will allow turning them into one of the leading economic centres of the world, much more developed than the EU or the US," Zorlu Tore noted.
According to the Chairman of the TRNC Parliament, the Turkic states have very large resources, which will make it possible to jointly achieve many goals and increase the welfare of the Turkic peoples.
The Speaker of the Parliament also noted that there is an undiscovered potential for cooperation with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, including in the spheres of culture and education.
In conclusion, Zorlu Tore expressed confidence that inter-parliamentary contacts between the three countries will be continued, including within the framework of visits to Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
