US Ambassador Mark Libby congratulates Azerbaijan on Solidarity Day and New Year VIDEO

U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mark Libby, congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the occasion of the 31st of December, Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis, and the upcoming New Year.

In a video message posted on the U.S. Embassy’s official X page, the Ambassador expressed his warm wishes to all citizens of Azerbaijan, wishing them peace, prosperity, and happiness in the new year, Caliber.Az reports.

"The U.S. values our relationship with Azerbaijan and we look forward to continuing to work together on shared goals," Libby said in his message.

The diplomat also touched upon the ongoing negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, expressing confidence that a peace agreement will soon be signed.

"I believe that with just a little extra effort and political courage, the two sides can sign a deal that will [secure] a dignified and durable peace in the region. Such an would dramatically change this region for the better ensuring peace, stability, and far greater prosperity for the people who live here," Libby stated.

Additionally, the U.S. Ambassador expressed condolences to the Azerbaijani people following the tragic death of many individuals in the December 25th crash of an AZAL passenger plane near Kazakhstan's Aktau.
