Video hosting Rutube restores after hacker attack
Video hosting Rutube has restored work after a hacker attack. The site opens in the same mode, Gazeta.ru reports.
The management of the service reported that on the night of May 9, the national video hosting Rutube was subjected to an APT attack (targeted prolonged attack of increased complexity), as a result of which users lost access to the platform. This is not the first attempt by attackers to restrict access to Russian video hosting - for several months, experts have successfully repelled hacking attempts.
The hacker group Anonymous, which was among the first to declare “cyberwar” on Russia, claimed responsibility for the attack on Rutube.
Video hosting Rutube previously reported that it had attracted several expert teams, including specialists from the Russian company Positive Technologies, to eliminate the consequences of a recent cyberattack.
Positive Technologies' spokesman Denis Goydenko said that experts were able to understand the tools used by hackers.
