Western Azerbaijan Community accuses German FM of lying

05 November 2023 12:21

The Western Azerbaijan Community accuses German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock of lying.

The community commented on the statement of German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock, which she made at a press conference on November 4 in Baku about her alleged meeting during her visit to Azerbaijan with Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia, Caliber.Az reports.

The Western Azerbaijan Community declares that it has not received any invitations from the German side to such meetings and has no information regarding their holding.

"There was no information about this meeting, other than what the minister said at a press conference. The absence of any information about the persons with whom, according to the German Minister, the meeting was held, and about the content of the exchange of views raises serious questions. This also raises questions due to the fact that both the German side and the Armenian press have published extensive reports, including videos, about the meeting that Baerbock held the day before [November 4] during her visit to Armenia with Armenians who migrated from Azerbaijan.

All this suggests that Ms. Baerbock is either lying or trying to hide some nefarious purposeful act.

The Western Azerbaijan Community, which is the legal representative of the Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia, demands that Germany respect the principles of transparency and disseminate detailed information about the above-mentioned meeting.

In addition, Baerbok violated international law by using fictitious names of places on the territory of Azerbaijan. It should be recalled that the fictional toponyms used by the German minister were fabricated by Armenia as part of territorial claims against Azerbaijan, and did not have any historical and legal basis. If the German minister attaches special importance to historical facts in the issue of toponyms, then during her visit to Armenia she should have used not fictitious names, but real historical toponyms of places she visited, including Irevan, Keshishkend, Aradeyen," the statement of the Community reads.
