Western Azerbaijan Community rebukes Blinken over biased human rights narrative
The Western Azerbaijan Community condemned the attempts by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and other officials to interfere in Azerbaijan's internal affairs.
The statement from the community reads: "Unfortunately, for many years, we have not seen the US condemn Armenia's occupation of Azerbaijani lands, its policy of ethnic cleansing, or the deportation of Western Azerbaijanis, Caliber.Az reports.
After the Patriotic War, we once again witnessed the biased approach of the US
The letter addressed to Antony Blinken by the Western Azerbaijan Community, which has chosen a peaceful path to return to the land of their ancestors, went unanswered. Meanwhile, the United States opened its doors to separatists involved in ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijanis, who threaten Azerbaijan's sovereignty, granting them visas and allowing them to speak in their institutions.
The US has lost its remaining credibility in Azerbaijani society. A country that presents itself as one that respects religious freedoms, which produces "important" reports and places countries on various made-up lists, continuously expresses concern about the "Armenian heritage" in Karabakh, yet has never condemned the destruction and appropriation of Azerbaijan's rich cultural heritage in Armenia.
Instead of using the theme of "human rights" and "independent" NGOs as weapons against Azerbaijan, the US should put an end to practices such as excessive use of force by the police, racial profiling by law enforcement, structural racism, address gun violence issues, investigate instances of torture in prisons, and other unlawful actions."
