Western Azerbaijan Community slams Armenian Apostolic Church for fueling ethnic hatred

The Western Azerbaijan Community has condemned the statement made by the Armenian Apostolic Church on May 23, 2025, regarding the decision to restore the Yerevan Catholicosate of the Caucasus Muslims Office.

“By its statement, which fuels ethnic hatred against Azerbaijanis and demonstrates a negative stance, the Armenian Apostolic Church has once again proven that it is a politicised organisation, far removed from humanitarian values, and its true goal is to deepen the division between peoples," the Community stated, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

It is deeply concerning that instead of promoting harmony among peoples, interreligious dialogue, and peace, the Armenian Apostolic Church incites hatred, opposes the return of Western Azerbaijanis and the freedom of their faith, as well as the restoration of their religious and cultural heritage,” the statement emphasises.

The Community urged the international community to condemn the politicised actions of the Armenian Apostolic Church, which are based on ethnic discrimination.
