Western Azerbaijan Community slams Swiss Parliament's resolution as biased, provocative

The West Azerbaijan Community has strongly condemned the recent anti-Azerbaijani resolution passed by the lower house of the Swiss Parliament, describing it as a collection of slanderous statements and unfounded calls, including the suggestion to convene a "peace forum."

The Community stated that the resolution's supporters appear to align with provocative politicians and diplomats, who, according to them, view Azerbaijan through the lens of the Zangezur mountains, Caliber.Az reports.

In a statement, the Western Azerbaijan Community expressed outrage at the Swiss Parliament's emphasis on the return of Armenians, highlighting the lack of a similar demand from Armenia regarding the return of Western Azerbaijanis.

"It is outrageous that the MPS who supported the resolution emphasize the importance of the return of Armenians, while failing to make the same demand of Armenia regarding us—Western Azerbaijanis. These lawmakers have become hostages to ethnic and religious bias, referencing fictional events that supposedly occurred in the early 20th century," the Community stated.

The Western Azerbaijan Community further called on external, "racist" circles—those disconnected from the region and lacking a genuine understanding of the issues—to cease interfering in Azerbaijan’s internal affairs.
