Turkish leader sees Macron as “unqualified” for presidency
30 January 2023 11:36
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has criticised his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, claiming he is "not qualified" for a presidential post.
"The person who leads France is actually not qualified to be the head of this state," Erdogan said, Report informs.
As an argument for his position, he said that France was "exploiting" African countries, pointing to the country's relations with Mali and Burkina Faso.
“Mali is in a state of complete rupture with France. Burkina Faso gave a deadline: ‘I give you one month’. In a month, we do not want to see French soldiers here,” the Turkish president explained, assuming that Togo (West Africa) would do the same.
He also added that France is rapidly losing its reputation in Africa.
