One Azerbaijani civilian killed as result of Armenian shelling of Shusha

On September 19, illegal Armenian armed formations on the territory of Azerbaijan fired at Shusha with large-calibre weapons, including mortars.

As a result of the terrorist attack, the engineer of the housing-communal and repair service of the State Reserve Department of the city of Shusha Farkhadov Vidadi Aydin oglu died from shrapnel wounds, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office.

The General Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case under articles 120.2.11, 120.2.12, 214.2.1, 214.2.3, 279.3 and other articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan into the case, the preliminary investigation is entrusted to the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office.

Hostilities returned to the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan on September 19 after the Azerbaijan Armed Forces launched a local anti-terrorist operation following intensified provocations by the illegal Armenian armed formations stationed in the region.

The operation came on the heels of the incidents that resulted in injuries and deaths on the Azerbaijani side. Deadly mine incidents in the Khojavand district on the morning of September 19 killed four police officers and two road construction workers. While, later on the same day, two servicemen of the Azerbaijani army stationed in the Aghdam district were wounded by the Armenian armed gangs located in the Azerbaijani territories temporarily monitored by the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
