Azerbaijan sends dozens of tonnes of petrol, diesel for Garabagh Armenians

Azerbaijani Presidential Administration has said the country sent 30 tonnes of petrol, and 34 tonnes of diesel for Armenian residents of Garabagh.

In line with the request voiced on September 21, 2023, at a meeting in the city of Yevlakh by representatives of Armenian residents living in Azerbaijan’s Garabagh region, to provide fuel and lubricants primarily to kindergartens, emergency medical services and firefighting services, on September 26, 30 tonnes of gasoline and 34 tonnes of diesel fuel were sent from Asgaran to Khankendi via the Aghdam road, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration.

On September 21, Ramin Mammadov, an Azerbaijani MP who was appointed in charge of contacts with the Armenian residents of Garabagh, met with Sergei Martirosyan and David Melkumyan in Yevlakh at the invitation of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The sides also stressed the importance of the speedy implementation of the issues reflected in the statement of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan of September 20 on the cessation of anti-terrorist activities.

In the context of the discussion of social and humanitarian issues, the representatives of the Armenian residents of the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan noted the special need for fuel. They also expressed a request for humanitarian assistance, including the delivery of foodstuffs.
