2021 elections served as nationwide inquiry, says Armenian PM
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has robustly defended his record amid persistent scrutiny over the 44-day war, asserting that the 2021 parliamentary elections functioned as a comprehensive public examination of his actions.
“I have never ordered the withdrawal of troops from any sovereign territory of Armenia,” Pashinyan told journalists, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The Prime Minister noted that judicial proceedings continue regarding multiple episodes of the 44-day conflict and confirmed that he has been questioned in connection with one of the cases. Pashinyan also highlighted that he was publicly interrogated by the Armenian parliamentary investigative commission.
“Furthermore, I was held accountable by the people of Armenia; the 2021 elections effectively served as an inquiry into my actions. My conduct has been thoroughly scrutinized and remains subject to future examination,” Pashinyan emphasized. “As for the 44-day war, is there truly any unknown information? The notion that criminal proceedings contain more insights than the public is entirely mistaken.”
