Azerbaijan implementing infrastructure projects at Heydar Aliyev International Airport

Director of Azerbaijan’s Heydar Aliyev International Airport Teymur Hasanov has said that the software and technical support for vehicle entry and exit and parking at the airport are being modernised.

“The software and technical support for vehicle entry and exit and parking at the airport are being modernised. Presently, visitors can pay for parking by cash and non-cash methods at payment terminals, as well as online,” Hasanov said, Caliber.Az reports.

The new entry and exit system is based on automatic license-plate recognition technology, which prevents waste of time.

Hasanov also emphasised that an innovative project at the airport - e-Gate - a system for automating the pre-boarding inspection process is under implementation. Passengers will be able to enter the pre-flight check-in area by simply touching their boarding pass thanks to this system.

“Passenger Flow Management System - the project of a passenger flow monitoring and optimising system in various parts of the airport is at the research stage. In the future, there are such goals as renewal of the internal infrastructure of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, modernising waiting rooms, restaurants and shops,” he added.
