Pashinyan complied with demands of West and became Russia’s foe Armenian newspaper says

24 February 2024 10:27

Armenian Hraparak newspaper has said that Prime Minister Pashinyan complied with the demands of the West and became an enemy of Russia.

“After the meeting in Munich, relations between Armenia and Russia entered the stage of open confrontation, which was the West’s demand to take a final position: are we with them or with Russia?” Hraparak said, Caliber.Az reports.

“In an interview with French media, Nikol Pashinyan fulfilled this demand, saying that Armenia’s membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is frozen, and that Russia attempted a coup in Armenia last September. Official sources also report that the West has raised the question of the inexpediency of Mher Grigoryan's further stay in the post of Deputy Prime Minister.

It is known that government representatives close to Soros regularly complain to Pashinyan about Mher Grigoryan, considering him a figure close to Russia and suspecting that Grigoryan is obstructing Western plans in Armenia. The ruling party also generally does not consider him "theirs" and believes that he should be replaced by someone from their circle, but they have not yet found a worthy replacement. Relations between Mher Grigoryan and Babken Tunyan, who is the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly, are particularly tense. The National Assembly says that Mher Grigoryan lobbies for projects that serve the interests of the wealthy classes. Although many people want Mher Grigoryan removed, sources in the government believe that his release is unlikely, as he is a qualified functionary and also performs an important function as the head of the Demarcation and Delimitation Commission," the newspaper adds.
