Air Astana enhances services to Baku ahead of Novruz holiday
Air Astana is increasing its flight operations to Baku in the run-up to the Novruz holiday, resuming direct services from Almaty and boosting overall frequencies to Azerbaijan’s capital.
The airline announced that beginning March 15, 2026, flights on the Almaty–Baku–Almaty route will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays.
The schedule will be further expanded in the following months: from April, flights will run three times per week, and from May the frequency will rise to four weekly services — on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The revised timetable предусматривает daytime departures and arrivals, making travel planning more convenient for passengers.
In addition, Air Astana is increasing the number of regular flights on the Atyrau–Baku–Atyrau route to three per week. Starting March 18, services will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. From April onward, flights will be scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The airline stated that the flight time from Almaty to Baku is 3 hours and 35 minutes, while the journey from Atyrau takes 1 hour and 25 minutes. Round-trip economy-class fares, including all taxes and fees, start at 157,182 tenge for departures from Almaty and 97,093 tenge for departures from Atyrau. Tickets can be purchased through the airline’s official website, its mobile application, or accredited travel agencies.
Air Astana also reminded travelers that citizens of Kazakhstan do not require a visa to visit Azerbaijan.
