Ankara puts Middle East at centre of Cabinet agenda
The next meeting of the Cabinet of Türkiye will be dedicated to developments in the Middle East, with a wide-ranging agenda focused on regional security and economic risks.
The session, to be chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will examine the evolving situation across the region, TRT Haber reports.
A central focus will be recent developments in the Middle East, including the approaching end of a temporary ceasefire in the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, as well as the situation in Lebanon. Officials are also expected to assess the implications of rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and discuss possible measures to shield the Turkish economy from global instability.
The agenda will also include the situation in the Gaza Strip and ongoing international efforts to advance a peace settlement plan, including discussions on pressure on Israel over continued strikes despite the ceasefire arrangements.
Another key item will be the government’s “Türkiye Without Terrorism” program. The Cabinet is expected to review its current implementation stage and consider potential legislative initiatives based on the findings of the Commission on National Unity, Solidarity, and Democracy.
