Armenia says possible fuel deals with Azerbaijan will be on market terms
Armenia and Azerbaijan are in discussions over potential fuel supplies, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mger Grigoryan has said, emphasising that any deals would be conducted on market terms.
Speaking to journalists, Grigoryan declined to provide details on the volumes of Azerbaijani fuel that might be imported, the Armenian companies involved, or whether prices would be competitive with fuel imported from Russia, Caliber.Az reports.
“The next steps regarding fuel are already in the hands of private exporters and importers, and any potential deals will follow market conditions,” he said.
Grigoryan added that talks between the two countries on other goods are ongoing.
On December 5, the Georgian government received a request for a one-time fuel shipment from Azerbaijan to Armenia via Georgian territory. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze instructed the Georgian Railway to carry out the transit free of charge.
The ministry underlined that Georgia remains a strategic partner for both Armenia and Azerbaijan, supporting regional peace and stability.
