Armenia set to receive Kazakh grain following Azerbaijan’s transit lift
Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan has outlined the transit route through which Kazakh grain will reach Armenia via Azerbaijan, as per Caliber.Az.
Posting on Facebook, Papoyan stated: "In the near future, the first batch of Kazakh grain will arrive in Armenia by Aktau-Baku railroad and then by Azerbaijan-Georgia railroad. Peace is established."
This development follows President Ilham Aliyev’s announcement that Azerbaijan has lifted all restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia.
Speaking during a joint press statement with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Aliyev said: "Azerbaijan has lifted all restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia that had been in place since the occupation."
He further highlighted the significance of the first shipment.
"I should also note that the first such transit shipment was a consignment of Kazakh grain to Armenia. I believe this is a clear indication that peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia exists not only on paper but also in practice," Aliyev emphasised.
