Armenian frontiers announce recruitment to Yerevan airport
The Border Troops of the National Security Service of Armenia have announced recruitment at the checkpoint at the Zvartnots airport in Yerevan and Bagratashen airport on the border with Georgia.
“The NSS border troops are organizing a recruitment for military service as warrant officers at the Zvartnots, Bagratashen checkpoints and other checkpoints across the state border of Armenia,” the press service of the National Security Service of Armenia (NSS) in a statement, according to the Armenian media.
Female citizens of the Republic of Armenia, as well as male citizens under the age of 30 who have completed compulsory military service, and received at least secondary education and speak Armenian and foreign (English or Russian) languages, can apply to enlist in the service.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia had officially notified the Russian side of its intention to independently carry out border control at Zvartnots airport from August 1.
Russian border guards serve on the Armenian-Turkish and Armenian-Iranian border in accordance with the interstate agreement on the status of Russian border troops on the territory of Armenia, concluded in Yerevan on September 30, 1992.
The border department of the Russian FSB in Armenia includes four border detachments - in Gyumri, Armavir, Artashat and Meghri, as well as a separate checkpoint at the Zvartnots international airport in Yerevan.
