Armenian lobby’s appeal to Putin reflects impotence & opportunism
The Union of Armenians of Russia's appeal to President Vladimir Putin, during his visit to Baku, is a clear sign of impotence.
Chairman of the Press Council of Azerbaijan Rashad Majid made these comments in response to the appeal, Caliber.Az via local media.
"Azerbaijani-Russian relations are currently at a high level, and the Armenian lobby should refrain from subversive actions and adventures aimed at achieving its malicious goals. They must realize that they cannot damage Azerbaijan's authority or its relations with Russia," Majid stated.
He further emphasized that the appeal by the Union of Armenians of Russia, in connection with Putin's visit to Azerbaijan, not only signals their impotence but also highlights the opportunism and adventurous nature of the Armenian diaspora in Russia.
"Apparently, Ara Abrahamyan, the head of the organization, and his close associates believe that with such baseless appeals, they can influence the Russian leadership's stance and force Azerbaijan to abandon its position," Majid added.
Majid concluded by stressing that Azerbaijan follows a pragmatic policy based on national interests, fostering mutually beneficial cooperation with regional countries, including Russia, while resisting any external forces that might seek to undermine this policy.
