Armenian PM hails results of May 15 delimitation meeting with Azerbaijan, calling it great success
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has called the May 15 signing by Armenia and Azerbaijan of a protocol description on delimitation in Tavush (Tovuzgala) a great success.
At the government session, Pashinyan noted that this has become a cornerstone for further strengthening Armenia's sovereignty and security, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
For the first time in the history of independence, Armenia has an officially delimited border, which will significantly increase the level of security and stability not only in this section, but also along the entire perimeter of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
He thanked the commission of the Armenian Government headed by Mher Grigoryan and other competent structures for this process.
The ninth meeting of the delimitation commissions, chaired by Deputy Prime Ministers Mher Grigoryan of Armenia and Shahin Mustafayev of Azerbaijan, convened on May 15 along the border between the two countries. As a result of the meeting, a protocol describing the delimitation of the border between settlements of Baghanis (Armenia) - Baghanis Ayrim (Azerbaijan), Voskepar (Armenia) - Ashagi Askipara (Azerbaijan), Kirants (Armenia) - Kheyrimli (Azerbaijan) and Berkaber (Armenia), was signed. The protocol aims to align these border sections with the legally valid inter-republican border that existed within the Soviet Union based on maps from 1976.
