Azerbaijan, Abu Dhabi discuss Absheron gas project development
Azerbaijan and Abu Dhabi have discussed Absheron gas project development.
President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf wrote that SOCAR and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) discussed the implementation of the Absheron project and its full-scale development within the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Caliber.Az reports citing Najaf’s message on X.
“I took part in a strategic dialogue with Executive Director of Low Carbon Solutions and International Growth Directorate at ADNOC Musabbeh Al Kaabi. We discussed the process of implementing the Absheron project, its full-scale development, as well as explored potential opportunities for future cooperation in low-carbon solutions and renewable energy sources,” Najaf wrote.
SOCAR and ADNOC signed an agreement on strategic cooperation last December. The agreement envisages further expansion of joint activity between SOCAR and ADNOC in environmental protection, as well as cooperation issues on blue hydrogen, geothermal energy and carbon emission management.
ADNOC signed an agreement with SOCAR and the French TotalEnergies company to acquire a 30 per cent stake in the Absheron gas condensate field in August 2023.
