Azerbaijan accuses Armenian Foreign Ministry of spreading misinformation
The Armenian Foreign Ministry continues to spread fake news on the closure of the Lachin road and the number of Armenians living in Karabakh.
The remarks came from the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's spokesman Aykhan Hajizade on Twitter on December 20, Caliber.Az reports.
He noted that numerous videos posted on social networks show vehicles freely passing along the Lachin road.
The protest action on the Khankendi-Lachin road by civil activists against the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in Karabakh is now on its ninth day.
Spokesperson @MFAofArmenia continues to promote false narratives about the road "blockade" and number of #Armenians present in Garabag region of #Azerbaijan. Numerous videos circulated on social media clearly show cars freely passing through the Lachin road. https://t.co/90rcSjlAKY

Following the talks with the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent on December 3 and 7, 2022, a delegation consisting of specialists from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy, Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Committee on Property Issues (operating under the Ministry of Economy) and the country’s mining company AzerGold was supposed to conduct preliminary monitoring of the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits on Azerbaijan’s territory, where peacekeepers are temporarily deployed, as well as related environmental and other problems. However, due to the peacekeepers’ inactivity, the monitoring did not take place.
