Azerbaijan, Colombia discuss broadening cooperation in multiple spheres
On March 10, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov and newly appointed Colombian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Nelsi Raquel Munar Jaramillo, met to discuss expanding cooperation in the economy, trade, and tourism, as well as other areas.
During the meeting, the ambassador presented copies of her credentials to Bayramov. The minister congratulated her on beginning her diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan and wished her success, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Foreign Ministry.
The two sides also discussed prospects for expanding political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Colombia, as well as cooperation in education, culture, and demining. Preparatory work for upcoming political consultations between the foreign ministries was also reviewed.
Bayramov and Munar Jaramillo noted with satisfaction that both countries support each other on issues of peace, security, and sustainable development in multilateral forums such as the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement. They emphasised the importance of interparliamentary dialogue and mutual visits between friendship groups.
The situation in the Middle East was also discussed, with the ambassador noting that Colombia’s Foreign Ministry has issued a statement highlighting the importance of de-escalation.
Other bilateral, regional, and international matters of mutual interest were also addressed during the meeting.
