Azerbaijan discloses foreign public debt

The state budget 2023 envisages expenditures of slightly more than 1 billion manats ($588 million) related to servicing the state debt and obligations.

The level of direct external public debt decreased by $13.5 million compared to the beginning of the year, totaling nearly $6.68 billion by April 1, 2023, APA reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Finance.

Compared to the end of 2022, the level of direct domestic public debt increased by 180.5 million manats ($106.2 billion) in absolute terms and approached 4.37 billion manats ($2.57 billion) on April 1, 2023.
