Azerbaijan, Greece hold latest round of political consultations in Athens
A further round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Greece was held today in Athens, underscoring continued efforts to sustain regular diplomatic engagement.
The talks were led by the deputy foreign ministers of the two countries, Fariz Rzayev and Alexandra Papadopoulou.
According to Azerbaijan’s foreign ministry, the sides reviewed the current state of bilateral political dialogue and reiterated the importance of maintaining consistent exchanges, including reciprocal visits at various levels.
Discussions also covered prospects for expanding cooperation in trade and economic ties, humanitarian initiatives, as well as scientific and educational exchanges. Both sides noted opportunities for further engagement in strategic energy and transport projects involving and initiated by Azerbaijan.
The Greek side was briefed on developments in the South Caucasus region, including the normalisation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, alongside large-scale reconstruction, rehabilitation and demining efforts in territories retaken by Baku.
The consultations also included an exchange of views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, with both sides expressing satisfaction with the continuation of dialogue and cooperation within multilateral frameworks.
