Azerbaijan, India mull tourism development prospects
Azerbaijani State Tourism Agency Chairman Fuad Nagiyev and Indian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Sridharan Madhusudhanan have discussed have discussed prospects of developing tourism between the two nations, APA reports.
The meeting touched upon the prospects for the development of bilateral relations, mutual promotion measures, cultural and historical factors that attract Indian tourists to Azerbaijan, the intensification of visits of Indian tourists to Azerbaijan and an increase in the number of direct flights.
In the first half of 2023, over 47,670 foreign guests from India visited Azerbaijan, which is three times more than in the same period last year.
For Indian citizens visiting Azerbaijan, there is a simplified system of "electronic visas". Currently, direct Delhi-Baku-Delhi flights are operated by the Azerbaijani air-carrier AZAL.
