Azerbaijan, IRENA discuss development of renewable energy
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) CEO Francesco la Camera exchanged views on the development processes in the field of renewable energy sources.
The sides met in Astana on the sidelines of the Astana International Forum on June 9.
The parties also discussed the cooperation within Azerbaijan's membership in the IRENA Council, Caliber.Az reports per Shahbazov’s Twitter.

The IRENA Council comprises 21 Member States elected for a two-year term and is accountable to the Assembly. Council members serve on a rotating basis to ensure the effective participation of both developing and developed countries and fair and equitable geographical distribution. The Council’s responsibilities include facilitating consultation and cooperation among IRENA Members and reviewing the draft work programme, budget, and annual report.
