Azerbaijan issues official denial of military aircraft activity near Iran
Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency has firmly rejected social media rumours alleging that Azerbaijani military aircraft were conducting flights along the border with Iran, calling the reports false and manipulative.
The agency’s statement comes amid increased tensions between Iran and Israel, which have fueled a surge in misinformation circulating online.
“In the foreign segment of social media, reports have appeared claiming that Azerbaijani military aircraft flew near the border with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the agency noted, per Caliber.Az.
“These reports do not correspond to reality, are intended to manipulate public opinion, and are fabrications that categorically do not reflect the truth,” it added.
The agency urged the public to rely exclusively on verified information from official channels. “We call on the public to trust only official sources,” the statement continued. “We also urge journalists and public activists to show integrity in the face of such claims and remain vigilant during ongoing attempts to spread disinformation.”
