Azerbaijan launches export initiative for Sri Lanka, India
Azerbaijan is set to export goods to Sri Lanka and India through a new project initiated by the internet portal Azexport.az, which operates under the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications, in partnership with MeetUp Networking Club.
A meeting was held with Thani Shayen, a representative from an importing company in Sri Lanka, to discuss the introduction of Azerbaijani agro-industrial and food products into the markets of both countries, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Aykhan Gadashov, head of Azexport, presented Azerbaijani products online, followed by a tasting of various agricultural offerings.
Future meetings are planned at agricultural enterprises and food production facilities to foster further collaboration.
Entrepreneurs interested in participating in this export initiative can submit their proposals via the Azexport.az portal and MeetUp Networking Club.
On October 5, 2016, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree aimed at promoting local non-oil sector products in foreign markets under the brand name "Made in Azerbaijan." This decree outlines ten different mechanisms designed to support and stimulate the export of Azerbaijani goods.
Depending on the specific support measures, the costs associated with their implementation will be fully or partially covered by the state budget. All exporters of non-oil products originating from Azerbaijan are eligible to benefit from these support measures.
